RICOWI Elects Officers for 2006 - 2008 Term

RICOWI elected a new Board of Directors at its March 23rd membership meeting in Phoenix, AZ. Elected officers for the 2006-2008 term are: Chairman: Rick Olson, Eugene, OR (Tile Roofing Institute); Vice Chairman, Bas Baskaran (National Research Council of Canada) and André Desjarlais, Secretary/Treasurer (Oak Ridge National Laboratory). Joe Hobson, Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association, was elected as Board representative to the Executive Committee. Dave Hunt, Revere Copper Products, Inc. was appointed the Affiliate Member representative to the Board of Directors.

In preparation for the 2006 hurricane season, RICOWI had an overwhelming response to a half-day Wind Investigation Program (WIP) training workshop. The following day eighty-six people attended the roofing seminar. Check RICOWI's website for related articles.

The fall seminar will be held in Houston, TX on Thursday, October 19th and RICOWI's membership meeting on October 20th. Details will be posted on the website.

RICOWI is a nonprofit organization comprised of all of the major roofing associations and includes members of academia, educational and testing facilities and others involved in the science of roofing. RICOWI's hail and wind investigation programs help to accelerate and establish new or improved industry consensus standard practices for weather design and testing where they are recognized as needed.
